Grant Update: The $315,000.00 CDBG grant for the Emergency Shelter in Pall Mall should be completed and closed out this week. Our last visit to the facility revealed an addition that the Pall Mall Community can be proud of. We want to especially thank commissioners Kim Davidson and J.P. Reagan for their vigilance and determination in getting this project funded and completed.
The THDA Housing Grant is currently in the final stages as the second round of home repairs are under way. We had the pleasure of visiting a couple of the completed projects and were greeted by very happy and excited home owners. This $375,000.00 Grant as well as our CDBG Grant were written and administered by Fentress County’s Grant Writer Amanda Mainord. We appreciate Amanda’s continued success in completing these grants for the betterment of our county.
The $450,000.00 Local Parks & Recreation Grant that we applied for a couple of months ago should be announced or awarded sometime in August.
As we head into the Fourth of July week, we contemplate and reflect on our many freedoms and liberties as Americans. So whether on the lake, picnicking, grilling or “whatever” with family and friends, please take a little time to thank God for our blessings. We are a blessed Nation (“One Nation under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for All”). That being said, enjoy your burgers and be careful with the fireworks.
