County Executive

We are proud to announce that we have reached a new agreement with Jamestown Regional Medical Center and Fentress County Government concerning the care and treatment of prisoners housed in the Fentress County Justice Center. As most know, medical expenses for inmates is unpredictable and often very expensive. This year alone, Fentress County has paid almost $400,000.00 in medical bills. In the past, through a former Administration, Fentress County received a 25% discount from JRMC for inmate treatment. We are proud to announce that we have negotiated a new rate that includes an 80% discount on medical expenses. This could amount to a savings of a $200,000.00 or more, depending on the extent of medical cost each year. We want to thank Hospital Administrator Lynnette Pritchett, her staff and the new owners of JRMC for their hard work in achieving this new agreement. We also want to mention Fentress County Attorney Leslie Ledbetter, Ambulance Director Micah Dunford and Sheriff Michael Reagan for helping us in the negotiations.

Last week, in a cooperative effort, the Fentress County Solid Waste Department and the City of Jamestown collected almost 1,200 pounds of litter from 4 city and county roads as a part of the Great American Clean-Up. Solid Waste Director Jackie Selby coordinated the effort. In addition, we talked with Terry Hall this week. Terry’s crew picked up 96 bags of litter from Frank Campbell Road and Stockton Road. Terry’s crew picks up litter 2 days a week, weather permitting. Request for specific road pick-up can be placed by calling Terry Hall’s office, the County Executive’s Office or the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department. We appreciate Terry’s efforts in keeping Fentress County clean.
