The Fentress County Senior Citizen’s Center is currently sponsoring a “Silent Auction Fundraiser”. All proceeds from the Silent Auction are tax deductible and will be used to help fund Senior activities within the Center. Participants are asked to donate a “Hippity Hop Bunny Baskets” that have an Easter theme. Each basket will be entered into a Silent Auction with the winners declared at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018. We are asking Elected Officials, Candidates for Election, Local Businesses and Individuals to donate baskets for the auction. For more information, please call Alice or Kelly at the Senior Center. Anyone interested in participating in the bidding process can visit the Senior Citizen’s Center during regular business hours. We appreciate all those who have donated baskets.
Speaking of the Fentress County Senior Citizen’s Center, the Annual Quality Assurance Compliance Review by the Upper Cumberland Agency on Aging and Disability was recently completed on the Center. Thanks to Alice and Kelly’s hard work and attention to detail, there were no negative findings or short comings at all for the Senior Center. In the compliance letter from UCDD, the Recommendations/Observations noted: “The Fentress County Senior Center continues to do a wonderful job of offering many activities and opportunities for serving their many seniors. The Diector, Alice Kirby, has several volunteers who help with meals, activities and crafts. The Office, activity room, and exercise rooms are all kept spotless and organized. The Center truly offers a “home away from home” for the participants”. A big thank you to Alice and Kelly for an exemplary job.
